Choice is Painful

Yesterday I quoted Shahid Kamal about our abundant choice in media.

Today he posted some written thoughts on the subject:

The pain of choice is not in deciding what we want. It is knowing that in choosing, we reject the cornucopia which within it might contain the jewel we always wanted, or needed.

It was hard to pick just one part to quote here. I think about this stuff all the time. It's mind boggling to me that we can have so much but pretty much everybody just either doesn't get it or thinking about how lucky they are overwhelms them and they choose not to.
